Flattery is fine, but where's my check?

This doesn't happen every day, but I kind of do get a charge when somebody "borrows" directly from me. Today, it's the associated press.

Exhibit A.

Exhibit B.

I guess it's easier to condense my work rather than do any of your own. Nifty, huh?

It's a pisser, I'm sure. I hope I did it right: I wrote about the story, but gave you credit and linked to your site. Of course, you'll be sent one-third of any monies I earn off the posting.

At the very least they should have credited your story for the quotes because I doubt they went out and got the exact same ones themselves.

Would it have hurt them to just string your story and give you credit?

Wow. Plagiarism isn't just for highschoolers, anymore.

I learned to just sit back and enjoy it. Back when Mel and I were reviewing animated features for The Gazette, we'd always look forward to tuning into WCHS TV's newscast to hear our words coming out of Kenny Bass's mouth.
